Many launch ramps, including those located at HWY K , Welcome Ridge, Bull Shoals, CR 15, Spring Creek, Fairview and CCC accesses are free to the public. Marinas, operated by private concessionaires, offer fuel, supplies and other services to anyone who might need them. Boaters should remember to: - Wear a Coast Guard Approved Life Jacket. - Learn and follow navigation rules. - Obey Missouri and Arkansas state boating laws. - Make sure the boat is seaworthy. - Keep the boat load below capacity. - Have a floatation device on board for each passenger. - Have a Type 4 throwable device on board and within reach. - Avoid standing up in a moving boat. - Watch for obstructions when approaching the shore. - Slow down when approaching small boats, docks, skiers, or swimmers. - Check the weather forecast before going out. - Be courteous to other lake users. BULL SHOALS LAKE – This lake was created in 1952 when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finished building the massive Bull Shoals Dam to help control flooding from the White River and to produce hydroelectric power...creating nfearly 700 miles of shoreline at normal pool. The dam is the last stop before the river is impounded as it flows toward its mouth on the Mississippi River. As a result, the lake levels regularly fluctuate from 630 to 680 feet above sea level. Because of its important role in flood control for the White River basin, Bull Shoals’ forested shoreline is mostly undeveloped, featuring beautiful Ozarks scenery and many opportunities for natural resource-based recreation.

AMENITIES – Nineteen developed parks around the lake offer facilities including campgrounds, pavilions, docks and boat launches, picnic sites, swimming areas and commercial marinas offering boat and equipment rentals, supplies and fishing guide services.

FISHING – Bull Shoals Lake has garnered wide recognition as a prime fishing spot and boasts many Missouri and Arkansas state angling records. The lake is home to many species, ranging from largemouth and striped bass to walleye. Because Bull Shoals is considered a warm water lake and seldom freezes, it has no closed season. Premier trout fishing is offered not only at the world-class trout fishery near Bull Shoals Dam but also where the lake’s headwaters cross the tailwaters of Lake Taneycomo. Anglers and boaters on Bull Shoals Lake should always be aware of what section of the lake they access since regulations vary from Missouri to Arkansas.

Waterfront homes range from $60,000 from $200,000 for channel front, and from $200,000 to 1 million for homes on the main lake. Prices depend mostly on condition and location.
