NEMO ROAD OVERLAY PROJECT TO BEGIN MAY 20, 2024

An asphalt overlay project will begin Monday, May 20, 2024 on Nemo Road from Pine Drive east for approximately 2.5 miles.  The road will not be closed during construction; however, a pilot vehicle will be used to direct vehicles through the work zone. Travelers should expect up to 15 minute delays and are cautioned to reduce speed and watch for construction equipment and personnel.

Operations will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for approximately two weeks.

May 14, 2024 - Please note updated dates!

THUNDERHEAD FALLS ROAD BRIDGE CLOSURE

Thunderhead Falls Road, approximately 1 mile south of SD Highway 44, will be closed for the day on Friday, May 17, 2024.  The closure will be from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m.  During this time, semi trucks will be backing in to the worksite from SD Highway 44.  JV Bailey Co. Inc. will be performing bridge deck replacement work on a bridge.

Work on the opposite side of the bridge was completed on May 7.

If emergency services are necessary during this closure, accommodations will be made by the contractor.

2024 Hours of Operation

The Pennington County Administration Building is open for public service Monday through Thursday offering extended hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The Building will be closed to public access on Fridays.
