Glasgo Pond is located in Griswold and Voluntown. It is an impoundment of the Pachaug River in the Thames River Drainage Basin. Its dam is 20 ft. in height. Two causeways cross the pond ( route 165 to the southeast and Sheldon Rd. to the northeast), dividing it into three distinct basin (northeastern basin, also known as Doaneville Pond, from the middle basin through a culvert. 24, 192 acres encompass the Pachaug River watershed of mostly undeveloped forest with clusters of residential and agricultural land. In addition, to the Pachaug River, the pond is fed by five small brooks. It drains west into Pachaug Pond.

The shoreline is wooded with concentrations of residential development on the southwestern and northeastern shores. Pachaug State Forest abuts the southern and eastern shores.

The transparency of the lake is fair with visibility reduced to 5 ft. during summer by a tea-colored stain. The bottom of the lake consists of fine sand, silt and organic muck. The fishing should be excellent for bullhead and catfish and fair for other species. Early spring bass fishing is reportedly good.

Boat Access: Unknown Ramp Comments: A State-owned boat launch is located on the northern shore. Facilities at the launch include a ramp with concrete slabs and parking for 20 cars. From Rte. 183, take Rte. 201 south for 1.5 miles, east on Hillview Heights St., bear right at top of hill, follow gravel road to launch. Parking Spaces: Unknown
