Rules update! Effective April 15, 2024, the Supreme Court adopted amendments around attorney specialization, removing the requirement that the lawyer be certified as a specialist by an organization approved by the Supreme Court Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists. Personal Injury is a common area of risk for attorneys. In a recently closed case, a client was struck while walking in a crossing walk. The court granted summary judgment against the client after the Insured allegedly failed to meet discovery deadlines or respond to a motion for summary judgment.
