Should I get temporary car insurance when learning to drive?

If you have Admiral Car Insurance, you can temporarily add a provisional licence holder to your policy. This is great if you want to help your daughter or son practice when they’re learning to drive. You could also choose to add them on to your policy permanently as a named driver.

Another option is Learner Driver Insurance, so it’s worth investigating all three to see what works best for you.

Can I get temporary insurance if I already have an annual policy?

If you’re looking for Admiral Temporary Car Insurance, you must already be an Admiral Car Insurance customer – then you can amend your policy to add the temporary cover.

Veygo's temporary insurance can be used to to cover your own uninsured car. It can also be used if you need to temporarily drive someone else's car, as long as they have their own insurance in place.

Does temporary car insurance cover business use?

Admiral Temporary Car Insurance can include business use but Veygo’s temporary cover doesn’t include it.

Can I use temporary car insurance to drive in Europe?

Our comprehensive cover extends to driving in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. When driving abroad, your policy covers the minimum cover level needed for the country that you're driving in.
