Car insurance for couriers

Couriers and delivery drivers are on the road a lot throughout the day, and face different challenges to many drivers: high mileage, frequent stops and a busy delivery schedule. It’s important you have the right cover, which is where our class of use called ‘carriage of goods for hire and reward’ comes in, which covers anyone using their car to deliver third party goods.

Good to know

The goods/merchandise you’re carrying aren’t covered, so you’ll need extra cover for that but it’s worth checking with your employer before buying, as some will provide it for you.

Also, this doesn’t cover the carriage of passengers for hire and reward, so you won’t be covered to use your car to give lifts to paying passengers.
