Do you use your car for making deliveries?

Using your car to deliver parcels or takeaway food is becoming more and more popular. But if you're working as a courier or other delivery driver, you're on the road a lot throughout the day - so it's important you have the right cover.

Of our four categories of cover (also known as the class of use), you'll need to choose the option called 'carriage of goods for hire and reward' if you're making deliveries in your car. This covers anyone using their car to deliver third party goods, making it ideal for couriers or delivery drivers.

Bear in mind your employer may already provide this cover so please check this before you buy. And while you and your car are covered, you'll need extra cover for the goods or merchandise you're carrying.

It also excludes the carriage of passengers for hire and reward, meaning you aren't covered to use your car to give lifts to paying passengers through Uber, for example.
