The Communication Speech & Theatre Association exists: to support and enrich speech and theatre arts programs, both as academic disciplines and as performing arts, at all levels throughout the state, including high school, college, university, and community; to evaluate current standards of production and training in all areas of speech and theatre arts, and to help evaluate those standards to the highest possible level; and to embrace and encourage creative, imaginative, and contemporary programs and practices within the state, where possible.

NDCEL

The North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders is the state professional association devoted exclusively to protecting educational leaders' interests and making their interests known in all educational matters in North Dakota.

It is composed of nine associations (see State Affiliates)  that include superintendents, secondary principals, elementary principals, county superintendents, special education directors, vocational education directors, school business officials, athletic directors and technical directors.

NDHSCA

The North Dakota High School Coaches Association is the only high school coaches association in North Dakota that is created by coaches and governed by coaches. It is a not for profit corporation that provides interscholastic coaches across the state with a voice in current issues. NDHSCA provides North Dakota's coaches with finest recognition program available and is a dual member of the National High School Athletic Coaches Association and its recognition program.

NDIAAA

North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association's purposes are to:

Promote high standards of achievement and ethics in interscholastic and extra-curricular activity. Promote better public relations and sportsmanship between schools. Provide for an exchange of ideas and a better understanding of the administration of high school activities, good will and fellowship among the Athletic Administrators of the State.

Promote the professional growth and image of interscholastic athletic administrators. Cooperate with and promote all functions of the NIAAA, North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders (NDCEL), North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA), and the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Serve in an advisory capacity to the NIAAA, NDCEL, NDHSAA, and NDHSCA.

National Federation of State High School Associations

Since 1920, The National Federation of State High School Associations has led the development of education -based interscholastic sports and activities that help students succeed in their lives. We set directions for the future by building awareness and support, improving the participation experience, establishing consistent standards and rules for competition, and helping those who oversee high school sports and activities.

The NFHS, from its offices in Indianapolis, Indiana, serves its 50 member state high school athletic/activity associations, plus the District of Columbia. The NFHS publishes playing rules in 16 sports for boys and girls competition and administers fine arts programs in speech, theater, debate and music. It provides a variety of program initiatives that reach the 18,500 high schools and over 11 million students involved in athletic and activity programs

NFHS Coaches Education Program

NFHS Learning Center courses have been designed to meet the needs of member state associations by providing affordable, accessible and relevant educational experiences. Their goal is to prepare interscholastic teacher/coaches for their role in promoting the educational mission of our nation's schools.

NFHS Coaching Today

NFHS Coaching Today is the National Federation of State High School Associations’ new online publication for high school coaches. It replaces the NFHS Coaches’ Quarterly, which was printed for members of the NFHS Coaches Association from 1996 to 2010. The publication is available on the NFHS main Web site at www.nfhs.org/CoachingToday/ and the NFHS Coach Education Web site at www.nfhslearn.com.

Parents LEAD Organization

Parents LEAD Organization. Parents Listen, Educate, And Discuss Alcohol with Your Kids. Their vision is to eliminate underage drinking with parents support. Their mission is to educate parents on the dangers and consequences of underage drinking and the importance of talking to kids. Their goals and objectives include education through the development of marketing tools, unique distribution methods and promotions.

Title IX Information

Title IX, Education Amendments of 1972

In June 1972, the President signed Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. §1681 et seq., into law. Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. The principle objective of Title IX is to avoid the use of federal money to support sexually discriminatory practices in education programs such as sexual harassment and employment discrimination, and to provide individual citizens effective protection against those practices. Title IX applies, with a few specific exceptions, to all aspects of federally funded education programs or activities. In addition to traditional educational institutions such as colleges, universities, and elementary and secondary schools, Title IX also applies to any education or training program operated by a recipient of federal financial assistance. Many of these education program providers/recipients became subject to Title IX regulations when the Title IX final common rule was published on August 30, 2000.
