A Community That Cares

Hatton is a neighborly city that places great emphasis on community connection and lending a helping hand to those in need. Citizens join together to make their city better through a variety of community organizations—like Hatton Community Club, the Hatton Helping Hands Food Pantry, the Hatton Prairie Village Loyalty Club, which raises money and hosts events to benefit the nursing home, and Prairie Roses, which hosts community projects such as dinners, blood drives, and fundraisers.

Other organizations include the American Legion Auxiliary, which helps to raise money for VA hospitals, and the Hatton Booster Club, which helps support Hatton and Northwood High School extracurricular activities.

The Hatton Park District maintains two beautiful city parks which include baseball and softball fields, playgrounds, a campground, and organized community sports. The town also boasts a Beautification Organization, dedicated to making the area more beautiful. This includes projects such as planting trees and flowers and maintaining parks.

Hatton is also home to great community spots, such as the Hatton Community Theater, which promotes theater and fine arts, and the Hatton Centennial Community Center, which hosts weddings, dances and receptions, reunions, and banquets. The Hatton-Eielson Museum is also located in town. This once-home to Carl Ben Eielson stands today as a tribute to honor the memory of one of America's great pilots.

Hatton Eielson Public School

The community has just one public school, the Hatton Eielson Public School, which serves students from elementary school through high school graduation. It's a small district of just about 175 students, yet despite its size (or maybe because of it), Hatton Eielson Public Schools provides students with a robust offering of programs and curricula that includes extracurricular activities, a variety of sports, and college readiness programs.
