About Us

Hume Christian Camps is a multi-site youth camp and adult retreat center providing epic, high-energy, life-changing camp experiences. We partner with churches, schools, teams, and groups to create distraction-free environments where they encounter Jesus Christ and experience the Gospel At Play.

About Our Locations

We Believe

1 We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

2 We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3 We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

4 We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

5 We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

6 We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension to Heaven, in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.

7 We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

8 We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and, thereby, become children of God.

9 We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost.

10 We believe God wonderfully and immutably creates each person, designated as male or female at birth, and that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that God created marriage in His love for us to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that sexual conduct is only proper within those bounds.

11 We believe in the great commission which our Lord has given to His Church to evangelize the world, and that this evangelization is the great mission of the Church.

Executive Director

Dr. John Boal

March 13, 2023 – Hume announced Dr. John Boal as the new Executive Director.

Boal brings 39 years of ministry and nonprofit leadership to his new role. Prior to serving as interim Executive Director at Hume beginning in 2022, Boal led the development team in raising $44.8 million for the All Things New capital campaign as Chief Development Officer.

“We’re thrilled that John has said yes to permanently accepting the call to become Hume’s seventh Executive Director in 77 years,” said Board Chairman Dave Erickson. “John’s passion for sharing the love of Christ with young people, coupled with his ministry-minded, missionally focused strategic thinking and leadership skills, make him the ideal candidate to lead our ministry into the future.”

“I am humbled and honored to serve as the new Executive Director of Hume Christian Camps,” said Boal. “I look forward to working with our staff, donors, churches, guests and volunteers to create life-changing experiences for campers as together we advance the mission of Hume.”

We’ve opened our lodges and cabins to families and couples! Come up the mountain to worship, hear the Word, and spend time playing together in God’s creation. It’s the best place to be this summer!
