Can accident insurance be used to cover out-of-pocket costs?

Yes, you can use your benefit payment as you see fit. Use it to help cover your household bills, medical insurance deductibles, copayments, and more.

Are benefits paid directly to me or to my healthcare provider?

Payments will be paid directly to you, not to the doctors, hospitals, or other healthcare providers. You will receive a check, payable to you, for maximum convenience.

I have a good medical plan at work. Why would I need additional coverage for accidents?

Accidents can happen any time, to anyone, when you least expect them — and they can be costly. Even quality medical plans can leave you with extra expenses to pay. Costs like plan deductibles, copays for doctor visits, and extra costs for out-of-network care can add up fast. Having the financial support you may need when the time comes can mean less worry for you and your family.

Can I enroll in this insurance without having to take a medical exam?

Yes. If your employer offers accident insurance, your acceptance is guaranteed8, regardless of your health. You just need to be actively employed for your coverage to be effective. There are no medical exams to take and no health questions to answer.

Is there a waiting period before my coverage begins?

No. This supplemental insurance will be effective on the date of your coverage as long as you are actively employed. There are no waiting periods to satisfy.

Is the claims process simple?

Yes. Once all the required information is received, claims are generally processed within 10 business days.9 Only one claim form is needed per accident, and every claim is reviewed by a claims professional Also, you can choose to receive payments the way you want – electronic funds transfer or check.

4 . The Admission Benefit is not payable for Emergency Room treatment or outpatient treatment. The payment of the admission benefit requires a Confinement. Hospital Confinement requires the assignment to a bed as a resident inpatient in a Hospital (including an Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital) on the advice of a Physician or confinement in an observation area within a Hospital for a period of no less than 20 continuous hours on the advice of a Physician. Please consult your certificate for details.

5 Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Benefit is standardly applied for covered Accidents only.  It is available as an add-on for Sickness

8 Coverage is guaranteed provided (1) the employee is actively at work and (2) dependents to be covered are not subject to medical restrictions as set forth on the enrollment form and in the Certificate. Some states require the insured to have medical coverage. Additional restrictions may apply to dependents serving in the armed forces or living overseas.

9 Applies only to "clean" claims.  A clean claim is a claim submitted with all the required information necessary to process the claim; no missing information requiring additional follow up with the subscriber.  It generally takes 10 business days to process "clean" claims.
