Full Time Director of Emergency Medical Services

Elk County EMS

Elk County EMS is currently seeking individuals interested in becoming a part of the Elk County EMS family. At this time there is a need for certified personnel to fill the recently vacated position of the EMS department.

Elk County EMS, through grants and department funding, will absorb the cost of the training in return for becoming a certified EMT to be employed by Elk County EMS.

911 Dispatcher

Elk County Sheriff's Office is seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team as 911 Dispatchers in the 911 Communication Center.

As a 911 Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in emergency response and public safety, ensuring swift and effective communication between the community and emergency services.

Dispatchers are responsible for receive emergency calls and prioritize response based on the nature of the situation. Dispatch appropriate emergency personnel, including law enforcement, fire, and medical services. Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers to ensure safety until help arrives. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all communications and activities. Collaborate with various agencies and departments to coordinate emergency responses. Operate and maintain communication equipment and systems.

Applicants must have a High school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication and multitasking skills, ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations, strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Previous experience in dispatching or emergency services is preferred but not required.

This position requires 12-hour rotating shifts, with a three-day weekend off every other week, providing employees with a balanced work-life schedule.

Elk County Public Works

Elk County Public Works is seeking career minded individuals for full-time employment. Qualified individuals will operate a variety of equipment and perform tasks related to road and bridge maintenance and construction. Such as grading roads, hauling rock, asphalt and sand, installing road signs, and preforming bridge maintenance. The employee in this position will be expected to learn the operation of heavy trucks and equipment.
