  • Recent Reviews From Pet Insurance Review

  • Recent Reviews From Pet Insurance Review

  • I analyzed at least 10 other insurance companies, and MetLife Pet insurance far exceeded the value of all other insurance companies. All of the companies had caps whereas MetLife Pet was a straight 90% (you can choose a less % for a lower premium) on all claims after your deductible has been met. It was a no-brainer. MetLife Pet makes the claims process seamless.

  • Floups,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 11/10/2023

  • When your loved one, in this case your dog, is sick, you have so many things to worry about. One of them may probably be affordability. MetLife Pet Insurance is great! Customer service is helpful with all my questions. They work with your vet office to get all the necessary paperwork to process your claim.

  • P.,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 11/09/2023

  • I sent the claim in and heard back a few days later that it was accepted. Payment was on the way a couple days later. Not too difficult to do. Thank you!

  • Joyce,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 11/08/2023

  • I am glad I decided to get this. Since I have started this insurance my dog has had ACL surgery, started seasonal allergies, and has had a clogged tear duct procedure. Usually we are only at the vet once a year for shots! This saved me so much money for all that unusual stuff that happened this year. I have been telling all of my family and friends to get it.

  • Lisa,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 11/02/2023

  • This is my first dog ever. I adopted him as a 7 year old rescue. Being older myself, I knew health care is important. I did a lot of research and MetLife Pet offered the most benefits, including wellness. They are quick to get to, easy to file claims, and even include flea, tick, and heartworm meds all under one deductible. I am very pleased

  • I chose MetLife Pet. A few friends of mine have also signed up their dog with Metlife Pet after my positive experience.

  • Sharon,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 11/01/2023

  • This company has been absolutely fabulous to deal with since I first signed up with them. My Australian Kelpie is a rescue. Shortly after we got her, she developed a cancerous kidney and had to have it removed. MetLife Pet took care of the claim in record time, and each time the sweet old girl has had an issue, their settlement time and payout

  • has been as good as it can get. I cannot recommend them enough. Not only have they settled the claims each and every time, but their coverage is truly the only reason she has been able to live this long. Without this insurance, I would not have been able to "keep" her this long. I am so very grateful to have found them and chosen this company to give my dog the best care possible.

  • Linda,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 10/31/2023

  • Having 3 dogs is already expensive, and finding affordable coverage was mind-numbing. We had another company for a few years but could only afford accident/routine care. Even then, they found a reason to deny or lowball almost every claim. Since switching to MetLife Pet, we've had one dog hospitalized and another began treatment

  • for lymphoma. MetLife Pet has reimbursed exactly what we expected. The claim submission is easy, the communication is prompt, and we don't have to fear spending 20 to 25 thousand dollars out of pocket as we did in prior years.

  • Jaime,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 10/17/2023

  • A new puppy means everything goes in the mouth despite being crated and watched like a hawk. Well, something hurt her GI tract and she had fluids coming out of both ends. An emergency hospital visit and 4 days later, the vet bills were over $5,000! Thank goodness I had MetLife Pet insurance! Once I submitted a claim online and uploaded

  • documents (a breeze), they paid nearly all of my bills. I’ve had other pet insurance over the years, and MetLife Pet far exceeds my experiences with the previous companies.

  • Laura,

  • petinsurancereview.com, 10/13/2023

  • We have had MetLife Pet insurance since our dog was a pup and they have always taken great care of us. Their claim service is so easy and communication is always there if we ever have questions. Highly recommend it!

If you have a dog, a cat or a parrot or cockatoo, inevitably the day will come that you will have to take it to the vet and possibly in regular conditions. Pet health insurance policies are similar to those of people. These cost a certain annual amount in premiums, have deductibles, co-payments and maximum amounts of coverage. The cost of coverage is based on the age of the animal, its health and the level of care chosen by its owner.

Generally, the higher the animal the more expensive the annual premiums are. There are also exclusions for pre-existing conditions and some insurers may deny coverage to certain breeds of dogs such as German shepherds who are prone to suffer from certain hereditary conditions such as hip dysplasia, a hereditary, congenital and degenerative condition of the hip joint.
