You could automatically be covered for equipment and accessories The equipment and accessories within your caravan travel trailer may be covered if they were included in the value of the caravan trailer when it was insured. This equipment can include verandas, patios and screens attached to, or in the same location as the caravan trailer .

A unique insurance deductible for a unique vehicle If you’re the victim of a loss affecting both the caravan trailer covered by your insurance contract and contents covered by a belairdirect home insurance policy, you may benefit from a single deductible in addition to the cancellation of the deductible in the event of a major loss or hit and run.

Civil liability coverage, even if you’re not the owner of the caravan trailer With belairdirect RV Comfort insurance, you could receive up to $100,000 in coverage if ever you are held liable for damage to a rented or borrowed vehicle that is comparable to your caravan trailer . You could also get a temporary replacement vehicle at no extra cost. Get an allowance of up to $100 per day, up to a maximum of $3,000, for travel and/or the rental of a temporary replacement vehicle in the event of a covered loss.

With our assistance service, you have 24/7 access to towing (within 50 km) and roadside assistance services such as wheel changes, door unlocking, battery boosting or gas delivery to get back on the road in no time.

Towing and repatriation of your caravan trailer In the event that your caravan trailer breaks down and needs to be brought back, you could be compensated up to a maximum of $8,500 for costs related to bringing your trailer, fifth wheel, mounted trailer or tent trailer back to your home in the event of a total loss of the towing or carrying vehicle.

Additional living expenses If your caravan trailer is rendered unusable due to damage caused by a covered loss, the expenses incurred, in addition to your regular expenses to maintain your standard of living could be covered up to a maximum amount of $2,000.

1 - What is a caravan?

A caravan, is a towable vehicle meant to serve as a mobile home for leisure purposes. Several vehicles fall under the category of caravans including travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers and camper trailers, amongst others. In order to be eligible for RV Comfort protection from belairdirect, the caravan must be used for personal use and be non-stationary. If you wish to insure a stationary caravan, it must be insured on your home insurance policy.

2 - Do I need to insure my caravan?

The Automobile Insurance Act requires all owners of motor vehicles operating in Quebec to have third-party liability insurance. This means that your caravan is not exempt. This coverage may cover damage caused to another person by your caravan.
