PA Lottery Treasure Hunt Jackpot-Winning Ticket Sold in Lancaster County is Game's Fifth-Largest Payout on Record

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. , Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One Pennsylvania Lottery Treasure Hunt ticket won the fifth-largest jackpot in the game's history in the Friday, Aug. 22 , drawing.

The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Turkey Hill, 26 Manor Ave., Millersville , Lancaster County . It correctly matched all five balls, 02-03-08-24-29, to win a jackpot of $201,493 less 25 percent federal withholding.

The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket, which was among 56,159 winning Treasure Hunt tickets sold statewide for the Aug. 22 drawing.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the jackpot winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Treasure Hunt winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery's seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown , Dauphin County .

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

In the 2012-13 fiscal year, The Pennsylvania Lottery awarded more than $67.9 million in prizes to winners in Lancaster County and also contributed more than $35.1 million to programs serving the county's older residents.

Treasure Hunt , drawn at mid-day, debuted as a Pennsylvania Lottery game on May 8, 2007 . The game's record jackpot was a $245,708 prize won in the May 2, 2013 , drawing.

How to play Treasure Hunt : To play Treasure Hunt , players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 30. Players may select their own numbers, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Treasure Hunt drawings are conducted at mid-day seven days a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-142,506; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-5.45.
